BIRMINGHAM UNITED FC COMMITMENT TO TRAVEL
The first good thing about travel soccer is that the participation times are sociable. No 4.00 AM or 11.00 PM game times. When you sign after tryouts the year breaks down as follows.Approx.’ – August 20th – October 20th (Fall outdoor season). (Includes 1 Tournament). Approx.’ – November 1st – December 15th (First Indoor Session). (1game per week at a local indoor facility). Approx.’ – January 5th – March 5th (Second Indoor Session). (1game per week at a local indoor facility). Approx.’ – April 1st – June 10th (Spring outdoor season). (Includes 1 Tournament, and a break during Easter Week). We practice during the outdoor seasons twice per week (1.5 hours per session), and have about 10 games per season (5 home and 5 away). For ages 9-12 all 5 away games are played against clubs from our local communities. Travel can be a little more extensive at 13, when our teams may enter the Michigan Premier Leagues. Although it can seem quite a financial commitment, the players are receiving high quality professional coaching instruction for approximately $10 per hour when calculated over the entire year. This is obviously very competitive with any sporting or leisure activity in our community. Hopefully this information assists you in your decision making process.
