2010
Michigan Referee Academy
The
Michigan Referee Committee, in cooperation with the Michigan State Youth
Soccer Association, is presenting a series of six free refereeing
clinics at sites throughout the state in March. These Michigan Referee
Academy sessions are designed for the "less experienced" referee, with
topics aimed at helping these officials make the transition from the
certification and bridge classes to actually working games as referees
and assistant referees.
Learning will take place on the field of play through activities meant
to be interactive and fun. Topics will include pregame activities,
signals and mechanics for both referees and assistant referees,
controlling bench personnel and spectators, and how to recognize and
deal with fouls.
Everyone is asked to come dressed in their referee uniform and bring
flags and whistles if they have them. Sessions will start promptly at
8:00 a.m.
each
day and will run through noon.
There
is an Academy location close to you and it's FREE. Being a referee is
never easy, but these clinics will help you be the best you can be.
Check the
www.msysareferee.net website for schedule, locations, and
